Tet is considered the Superbowl of Vietnam advertising.
For 2020, in order to own the occasion, we celebrated it...1 month ahead, away from the typical Tet approach.
The period happened during Christmas, an occasion not too celebrated by the Vietnamese people. So we decided to use its biggest symbol to celebrate not Christmas, but Tet for the first time.
Thanks to Samsung TV, Santa learned all things Tet.
An initiative the clients really loved, they put a budget to it.
We presented a week before the launch and immediately had to air.
Luckily found a santa-looking dude, who we latter found out doubles as fake CEO. Now he also doubles as Santa.
Santa experienced the Vietnam life. Ditching his thick outfit that doesn't fit in Vietnam weather. Belting his heart out in karaoke instead of ho ho ho. Even dancing a tiktok Vietnamese dance.
Plus he also lost weight (pro tip: if you want to naturally lose weight, live in Vietnam 🍲 ).
A crazy, first of its kind story in Vietnam that made the agency and the client's Tet, the merriest.
